A Holistic Ecstasy Addiction Cure Through Rehabilitation
Here at Passages Addiction Cure Center in Malibu California, we understand that there are only four causes of all dependency:
1. Chemical imbalance in the brain;
2. Unresolved events from the past;
3. Beliefs you hold that are inconsistent with what is true;
4. An inability to cope with current conditions.
Genetics is not listed among the four causes of dependency. This is because genetics is not a factor in alcoholism or addiction. In fact, there are millions of people whose parents and grandparents were or still are dependent on addictive substances, and they are not. Also important to understand is that alcoholism and addiction are not diseases. Instead, they are names we have given to the state we find ourselves in when we have become dependent on addictive substances to the point that we need help to stop. We need help to discover and heal the underlying causes of addiction, at which time, dependency will truly be cured.
THE FACTS OF ECSTASY ADDICTION
Ecstasy is considered a club drug, a drug that was at one time found and used frequently at night clubs and raves but has since become one of the fastest-growing drugs used by many different demographics and in a wide range of settings.
Ecstasy or MDMA (Methylenedioxymethamphetamine) is a synthetic, psychedelic drug similar to methamphetamine in that it is a stimulant, and to mescaline in that it has hallucinogenic properties. The primary effects of ecstasy include an increased awareness of the senses, increased sensitivity to rhythmic music, feelings of mental clarity, openness, euphoria, empathy, love, happiness, self-awareness, and enhanced tactile sensation. Other side effects, such as jaw clenching, elevated pulse and blood pressure, dehydration, hyperthermia, and grinding of the teeth are common as well.
The drug works to release high levels of serotonin and a smaller amount of dopamine to the brain. Both are chemical messengers in the brain that help to regulate mood. People who use ecstasy state that this rush of serotonin is pleasurable. However, the extremely fast deployment of such a large amount of serotonin can deplete normal serotonin levels and produce depression once the short-term effects of the drug wear off.
IS ECSTASY ADDICTIVE?
After using ecstasy for a period of time, users quickly develop tolerance, frequently relying on increasingly larger doses to produce smaller and smaller effects. Because our serotonin levels are limited, repeated dosing cannot provide a greater or lengthened high.
One study of adolescent and young adult ecstasy users found that 43 percent were dependent and 34 percent met the criteria for drug abuse. Almost 60 percent of users reported both physical and emotional withdrawal symptoms.
Despite evidence of potential harmful effects, ecstasy has gained a deceptive reputation for being a "safe" drug among its users. But this drug is far from benign. One of the more dangerous side effects of ecstasy use is hyperthermia (an increase in body temperature), which can lead to kidney failure. Research is ongoing, but studies have shown that heavy ecstasy users also suffer problems with memory among other cognitive effects.
Ecstasy can also often be laced with other substances such as caffeine, methamphetamine, and ephedrine—all stimulants that create effects similar to those produced by the stimulant properties of ecstasy.
DISCOVERING AND HEALING THE UNDERLYING CAUSES OF YOUR ECSTASY ADDICTION
Here at Passages Addiction Cure Center in Malibu, on the coast of beautiful southern California, we know that all dependency is a symptom of an underlying problem. By seeing your dependency in that new light, you will be able to heal yourself more quickly and more effectively than if you continue to believe that alcoholism and addiction are diseases and that they are incurable.
You are not incurably diseased. You are merely self-medicating your underlying problems with addictive substances or addictive behavior until you have reached the point where you cannot stop without help. We at Passages are here to help you or someone you love. We're here to guide you or your loved one along the path of rehabilitation to a life permanently free of addictive substances such as ecstasy.
In order to achieve your goal of being permanently free of addictive substances, we pair you upon arrival with 10 specialists who will work one-on-one with you every week, and with some you will meet twice each week. This amounts to at least 15 individual sessions per week, more than 60 individual sessions per month. At the end of each week, your entire treatment team meets with all the other therapists to discuss your particular program and to create a new program for the following week.
Your team includes a clinical psychologist, a hypnotherapist, a spiritual counselor, a medical doctor we recommend, an acupuncturist, a drug and alcohol counselor, a marriage family therapist, a nutritionist, a physical trainer, a life purpose coach, a continuing care specialist for when you leave Passages and a massage therapist. In addition, our two directors, Chris and Pax Prentiss are available to meet with you personally. That level of care is not available at any other substance abuse center anywhere in the world.
ONE-ON-ONE TREATMENT IS ESSENTIAL FOR SUCCESSFUL ECSTASY REHABILITATION
We have discovered that individual treatment is essential to recovery, and because of our findings we offer more one-on-one treatment than any other drug rehab center in the world. Most other drug rehabs might offer one individual session per week and the other 95 to 96 percent of their program relies on group therapy for treatment. You sit in the same groups with the same counselors, week after week.
Group treatment is not nearly as effective as one-on-one sessions, with average relapse statistics hovering between 80 and 86 percent. Group therapy sessions simply do not allow for the customization of a treatment program to meet the specific needs of each individual. A tailored ecstasy treatment program is essential for successful ecstasy rehabilitation.
As an example, would you expect your doctor to treat the patients in his waiting room, one with a bad cold, one with a broken arm, one with the flu, one with poison ivy, etc., by putting a cast on each person's arm? Of course not. While this seems to be common sense logic, the same logic is not applied to drug rehabilitation and treatment. Treatment centers the world over treat people with endless group meetings as though they all have the same problem, simply because they are all dependent on addictive substances. In reality, each person's problem that is causing him or her to abuse substances is unique. With one it's a broken heart, with another it's loneliness, with another it's peer pressure or that he or she can't make ends meet financially.
Every drug rehab case is uniquely individual, as is the person suffering from the dependency, and a drug treatment program must be tailored to reflect this fact in order to achieve success: a cure.
The treatment must fit the malady, and once the correct cause is diagnosed and attended to as a result of this individualized treatment, healing will take place and the longed-for cure will come about.
A HOLISTIC APPROACH TO YOUR ECSTASY ADDICTION CURE
