In some cases, death can occur.

For these reasons, when stopping Klonopin intake after taking it regularly for any length of time, one must not discontinue use abruptly, and should seek the help of a doctor well versed in Klonopin withdrawal techniques. The body develops tolerance to Klonopin and all other benzodiazepines very quickly, so it is not recommended for extended use.
