3.    Current conditions you can’t cope with
4.    Things you believe that aren’t true

Anyone who is abusing drugs and alcohol is doing so because of one or more of those four causes. Everyone who has come to Passages has had one or more of those causes present. Over the years, we have learned through extensive research that addiction is not the problem, but rather a symptom of a deeper underlying issue.

Passages launched our revolutionary program in 2001 and since then, many treatment centers are trying to copy our program due it its incredible success. Before Passages, the world treated alcoholism and addiction as though they were diseases and incurable diseases. Many centers are now trying to copy what we do because of our obvious success in treating addiction. It was an idea whose time had finally arrived.

If you are researching other centers you need to be diligent in your investigations. They may tell you that they focus on healing the underlying issues, but when you look closely at their programs you will see that most of them are made up of group meetings where deep healing is almost never accomplished, and to make it worse, they subscribe to the disease concept. The problem with the disease concept is that once you believe that you have a disease, it stops you from looking for the real underlying issues that are causing you to use drugs and alcohol.

Fortunately, Passages does not fall into this unprogressive group which has been preaching the same concept for decades.
