TESTIMONIALS

Dear Chris and Pax and Passages'Staff:

Finding Passages was one of the best things that happened to me in my life. The choice of wanting to live the rest of my life sober was the best. Andrea Kido

Continuing Care

Andrea Kido began working at Passages because of her motivated interest in the treatment and prevention of substance abuse. After graduating Summa Cum Laude with a BA in Psychology, her desires changed and she developed a taste for deescalating emergency situations and counseling those in the midst of them. Andrea is currently applying to Masters of Social Work programs at UC Berkeley, UCLA, and USC, and plan to specialize in methods of crisis intervention and creation of novel methods in said domain.

Aside from academics, she am very laid back twenty-two year old who enjoys watching TV and dancing. One of her greatest passions is the piano- an instrument that not only provides her with a creative outlet and means of expression, but relieves stress and keeps her spirits strong. Andrea has a twenty-one year old sister and two younger step-brothers among a vast Chilean-Japanese-French Canadian family with whom she spend most of my free time. She lives her life according to her three strongest values: Justice, Equality, and the search for Knowledge.

Based on her studies, as well as vicarious experience, she believes anyone with the desire, motivation, and belief that they have the power to overcome the grips of addiction can and will. One must not only want but work, and only through the combination of aspiration and discipline can one obtain true freedom from personal vices and victimization.
