When Deena Avery became Chris Prentiss' assistant neither of them knew exactly what form her "job" would take. He had never had an assistant and she had never been an assistant. Deena had no idea that it would take all of her past professional experience to assist him in his BIG life. She had been a co-owner of a video production company that specialized in the legal environment. It required domestic and international travel that often got scheduled at the last minute. At Passages, she records all of Chris' metaphysical classes so that Passsages can make CD's available to all of our clients. When Chris' latest book The Alcoholism and Addiction Cure came out they immediately began to tour the country to promote his book.

When Chris and Pax expanded, adding 2 more residences, it pushed the envelope on my previous experience as a Bed and Breakfast owner. She called her friend, Ann. Together they furnished and decorated both houses in record time. They tried to think of things big and small that would make Passages clients feel comfortable and nurtured. The baskets of hearts rocks in each house were all found on my morning walks on the beach. In ten years of sobriety, she has stretched and pushed and grown in many ways but can tell you for sure that the environment at Passages has kicked that all up a notch. Not just for her, but other staff and clients as well. It's a place that allows people to find the resources to be all that they can be.
